In so many words, Michael Cunningham tells me: It's not the AIDs that'll kill you. It's the long five story fall when you're so far out on the edge that life doesn't make any sense anymore, and you can only apologize so many times over and over again about how you've failed at living entirely before you just lose your balance, your grip, and fall, not even realizing you've done so, and you die unceremoniously, unnoticed, except perhaps by the one person who was there to watch you fall. It's not the AIDs that'll kill you, but living, or struggling to live, trudging through each and every day, every hour.
Omg this book is so fucking brilliant.
